Alchemy

This is a variation on the classic grounding
meditation. If you feel like your mind is spinning
or that you’ve been “in your head” too much… this
will help bring you back into your body. The
meditation can be done sitting or while standing up.
Tree meditation
Close your eyes. Take some deep breaths. Settle
into your body. Sense the energy in your
hands, feet and head. Now,
begin to imagine that you are a tree. It doesn't
matter what type of tree.
Begin to feel the inherent stillness, tranquility
and quiet peace within. You have all the time in
the world so you are not in any hurry to do
anything. You are silently standing amidst the chaos
of the world, where centuries of activity on this
planet have come and gone. Here you stand, an
ancient tree that is calmly witnessing the movement
of the ages.
Feel the sunlight streaming down on your leaves and
branches. Bring this light energy down through your
top-most branches and down to your roots. Send this
energy through your roots, deep into the core of the
Earth.
Imagine pulling red colored Earth energy up through
your roots, your trunk and your top-most branches.
Send it up and out to the Universe to anchor to the
higher planes.
Continue to feel this circuit of energy pulsing
through you, continue to feel the stillness and
serenity of being that giant timeless tree while you
gently open your eyes.
With eyes wide open, maintain the unhurried and
rock-solid sensation of being that tree. Observe the
outside world around you. Take in all the noises,
the movements, the commotion. Let it not phase you,
let it roll off you. Be still, strong, silent. Be as
a tree amidst the worldly illusion and breath in
Life at your own slow and even pace.
Now take this feeling with you as you transition
from the meditative space into your regular space.
Begin moving and returning to your activities while
you remember that calm, solid, still feeling. (You
can learn a lot from a tree.)
