Alchemy of the Heart Level 1 (Epic Alchemy Program)

When does your heart close? What wounds do we still carry with us? How can we heal these precious tender parts?

Compassion, Joy, Understanding, Forgiveness and Unconditional Love... These are some of the Teachings of the Heart. If we authentically cultivate these vibrations in our daily lives, transformations occur in surprising and inspiring ways. We can learn to keep our hearts open, fearlessly and with magical results.

We will practice sensing the subtle movements of the heart chakra. We will learn to use this perception for self-healing and growth. You will see it alter your relationship dynamics and your life.

Foremost in level 1, we will focus on the path of Self-Love. Nurturing a true commitment to Self is a path of honour, non-judgment and bliss. It is the greatest relationship one can have. You need not feel alone ever again, if you fall in love with Self. This is not about Narcissism, it is about the healing that allows you to truly be an instrument of Love.

We will also learn a powerful meditation and healing called "The Sacred Kiss" that is part of the XOX temple project. Join us for 5 weeks of intimacy, healing and expansion...

February Evolver Spore: A New Look at Love

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, corporations are gearing up to sell us diluted and dated notions of love. While divorce rates soar and traditional gender roles break down, new forms of love and new relationship paradigms are beginning to emerge. It’s time we consider the ever-growing varieties of the age-old subject of amour. Alongside traditional love relationships, do we also need to develop models for sacred and ceremonial sexuality that go beyond familiar ways of relating? And is it possible that we are entering a more heart-centered age, where love and forgiveness will radiate across our damaged earth?

For February’s Spore, get intimate with fellow Evolvers as we discuss the changing dynamics of union, love, and sex as a transformative process to heal the traumas of our world. Local Spores may explore the pleasures and complexities of monogamy versus polyamory, the innate intelligence of the heart, as well as the intentional side of sexuality through Tantra, holistic lovemaking, and healing touch. In this Spore, Evolvers will create a conscious space for vital issues around love and relationships, sex and spirit, to be courted, danced, and embraced.

Alchemy of Peace
(Epic Alchemy Program)

Today, we are still facing the age-old story of war and violence on our planet. Most of us are thus asking the age-old question of how we can bring about true Peace?

During this 4-week course, we shall examine these questions through tangible missions and experiences. We shall turn the question of violence into an everyday observation and make the answer of peace into an everyday practice.

As we observe the subtle seeds of fear or violence in our own hearts, we can transform them into seeds that will grow compassion and reconciliation. Join me in this inaugural class to further develop such a shift in consciousness, for the benefit of all beings. When peace reigns in our hearts, peace shall also reign in the world.

Sistahood Festival presents:
Beautiful Dreamers: new avant-garde feminist art cabaret

Sistahood Celebration kicks-off its 10-year anniversary with a cabaret of eye-popping, avant-garde film and live performance on Thursday, March 25, at the Vancity Theatre in Vancouver.

The first of three festival events, Beautiful Dreamers, is a film and live performance cabaret of new feminist avant-garde art. From surrealism to science fiction, from macabre to the erotic, this event showcases women who conjure the unexpected, the beautiful and the somewhat odd.

These short films and cabaret performances deeply probe and play with experimental, non-formulaic narratives from Vancouver and Canada's most edgy, ingenious female artists. No "talking head" documentaries or classic love stories: expect mythology and magic, femme monsters and unlikely heroines, burlesque and a dash of the perverse, and feminist voices heard in new and unexpected ways.

Curated and hosted by Amber Dawn, Director of Programming for the Vancouver Queer Film Festival, the event showcases filmmakers Asa Mori, Dana Claxton, Penny Lane, Amber Dawn, Kathryn Jean, Thirza Cuthand, Julie Atlas Muz, Shawna Dempsey, Lorri Millan, Divya Mehra, Freya Bjorg Freya and Leslie Loksi Chan.

There will also be live performances by VaVa Vunderbust, Little Woo, Luisa Jojic, April O'Peel, Jonie Gyoza, Morgan Brayton, Edward Malappropriate, Namchi Bazar and DJ/soundscape artist Iffer.

Vancity Theatre is a wheelchair accessible venue with one wheelchair accessible, gender-neutral washroom and several chair-accessible seating spaces inside the theatre. Volunteers are available to assist with seating arrangements.

Beautiful Dreamers: new avant-garde feminist art cabaret

Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the Vancity Theatre (1181 Seymour Street)

German New Medicine presentation at Recompression

Regional Burning Man Event, Sunshine Coast BC

In Epic Alchemy, I've taught that diseases are meaningful Spiritual experiences. Recently, i've embarked on a keen examination of German New Medicine since its premise is that diseases are meaningful BIOLOGICAL programs of Nature and not the result of malfunctions or malignancies. In fact, this medical system has mapped out the specific cause and natural healing process of all major diseases with such logic and intelligence that it will intrigue those who wish to examine alternative medical paradigms. I will only present the basic principles with a few examples (e.g. cancer as seen by GNM) as a way to begin a community awareness and joint study of this possibly revolutionary medicine.

Open to all participants at Recompression.
(Recompression event is sold out)
5pm-6:30pm in Centre Camp - Dining Hall

Alchemy of Expression

Where in your life are you most challenged or misunderstood when you need to communicate: At work? With certain types of people or specific friends? With family? With your partner? With your children? In front of groups or large audiences?

Be it friendship, romance, business, public speaking or artistic endeavours, your ability to communicate is key. When you refine how you express your essence and honor your truth, you are also better able to understand and honor others.

Far from being a specialized skill reserved for artists and intellectuals, our ability to express what is in our hearts and minds is a fundamental aspect of being human. Being able to communicate your meaning or your authentic feelings in diverse contexts is a real art and a long-term evolutionary commitment.

In Alchemy of Expression, we will examine our individual communication styles and joyfully take them to the next level of Clarity, Truth and Beauty.

Alchemy of Beauty

What are the Teachings of Beauty?
What is ugly to you and how do such things affect you?
What does it mean to lead a beautiful life?

We will explore how commitment to Beauty can be an inspiring path to transformation and how it can shape all our thoughts, actions and choices in daily life.

Far from being a mere “high concept”, the devotion to leading a Beautiful life can turn even the most “ugly circumstances” into a profound and heroic experience. We will explore our innate nobility and seek to beautify our everyday decisions and behaviours.

Discover how to use your Aesthetic tastes to evolve spiritually. Learn how it can inform your life choices and become a guide to ethical living.

The content comes from my direct experiences and a life-long personal study of the relationship between Beauty and Ethics (or what philosophy would call Aesthetics and Ethics). Far from being a mere philosophical discourse, this is about the true everyday situations we face and how we can commit to making more beautiful choices in our lives.

It is an approach to life that I began in childhood, that helped me heal on so many levels.   This is a very personal study of how Beauty has molded you and how it can create who you will be in the future.   Beauty can be an idea or it can be an inspired way of living…

PlayLaughBe Festival: building community through creative expression

PlayLaughBe is a multi-faceted fun-machine oiled by all-ages enthusiasm at multiple communal houses in legendary East Van. Fun-seekers walk from house to house, participating in playshops of their choosing at each venue.

PlayLaughBe is the creation of a small group of dedicated people in East Vancouver who are committed to bringing play into the lives of their friends and neighbours. As we get older in life, the number of lessons we've learned about what we shouldn't do continues to increase until eventually we don't find ourselves playing in life and being fully self-expressed. Funcilitators for each of the playshops help participants feel safe and comfortable to try out new types of self-expression through play. By the end of the day, participants are full of life, joy, and see new possibilities for themselves in their lives.

A Gift to the Community - Totally Free
For listing of all playshops, please visit: http://www.playlaughbe.com/playshops/

E.g. Alchemy of Puppetry with Funcilitator Little Woo
The Joys of Puppeteering: we will explore ways to animate inanimate objects in order to share stories and emotions. Enjoy the simple delight of breathing life into a form through play, movement, intention and sound!

One of a KIND Stories: Featuring Little Woo

Once upon a time, there was a little woo who believed in beauty and magic. However, as the violence of the world soon engulfed her, she found it increasingly difficult to hold onto innocence. As she crawled through the dark abyss of rage and depression, she nearly lost herself even as she hung onto the small spark inside her that spoke of the light. Thankfully, the rewards of this faith came as she found her way to the healing path. On the road to self-love, she also learned how to love the world again and reconciled with the True, Good and Beautiful. Now, this Little Woo is a spiritual teacher, performance artist and the founder of Epic Alchemy: offering inspired teachings & workshops about Love, Transformation and Self-Actualization. Her life as a Spiritual Muse is now a magical life filled with joy, creativity, community, meaningful work and adventures. May all beings understand the exquisite beauty that is in their Hearts...

One of a KIND Stories is an inspiring evening of courageous stories, uplifting music and songs from the heart. Produced and hosted by Brock Tully

"I started OKStories and Music because i believe community is created by sharing our stories from our heart...as a youngster i was discouraged from sharing my feelings and as a result i became very depressed and suicidal...i believe we, as individuals and as a society, are 'suffering in silence', and as they say in AA, "We are only as sick as our secrets". We have become obsessed with filling that hole in us with many different things and addictions, and i believe our healing begins and our joy returns by taking an honest journey from our head back to our heart. i'm very excited about OKStories...i believe everybody's story is 'our' story because we are all ONE!" - Brock Tully

at OrganicLives Restaurant
1829 Quebec St., Vancouver
before 7pm - dinner or snacks
7:00-8:45pm - Speakers and Performers

Burn in the Forest 2010

The Greater Vancouver Interactive Arts Society’s (GVIAS) summer event happens in the forest along the Squamish Valley river surrounded by mountains.

This year, as in the past, we will build a temporary community over an extended weekend. Together we create a village and gift each other in many ways that express our creativity and play.

Our community is built on the participation of its members from the simple exchange of food, stories, or a lending hand, to the elaborate construction of an interactive art project.

We support the diversity and experimentation of experience and ideas. We will strengthen existing friendships and build new ones, rewarding each other in special ways. We are self-sufficient and leave no trace except in our memories.

Please read Participation about how you can help create this experience: http://burnintheforest.com/participate/

Some of the things people bring to Burn in the Forest:
* interactive art
* theme camps
* fire performance
* music and theatrical performance
* workshops

Burn in the Forest began in 2002 when a group of loosely organized Burners from Vancouver decided that it was time to create an outdoor camping event, in accordance with the 10 principles of Burning Man. Many people in the community feel this was a magical event, in a magical space, where the community came together with minimal central organization, with everyone participating and helping to create an event like no other

http://burnintheforest.com/

All tickets include Friday and Saturday night camping. Event starts 12 noon July 16th – July 18th 5pm. There are no Saturday only tickets. http://burnintheforest.com/get-your-tickets-here/

Alchemy Night at BITF:

The Launch Pad Performances, Mission 9
In North Vancouver

Launch Pad: Mission 9 will feature three works-in-progress

Multidisciplinary artist Little Woo opens the evening with a presentation of The Silent Kingdom, a shadow puppet fairytale about the dark choices that one can make after an unbearable loss and the beauty that can survive despite all ravages.

Her performance will be followed by Siwan, a contemporary dance work performed by Triadic Dance Works, featuring Philippa Myler, Jennifer Aoki, and Jennifer Edwards, in which three dancers abstract the theme of (mis)communications between individuals and communities.

The evening will conclude with The Objective Subject, Subjective Object, in which contemporary dance choreographer and Link Dance artistic director Gail Lotenberg explores how scientists and artists share the attribute of a highly inquisitive mind. First performed in Cologne, Germany, this solo is revised with music by Jordy Walker and JP Carter.

Resident dramaturg Eury Chang has worked with the performers for the ninth installment of the studio series: a collage of new works-in-progress that will be revealed over two nights. The intimate studio showings will be followed by a brief Q&A and discussion with each of the artists.

Hosted by Creative Dominion Society, the Launch Pad program has served a unique purpose on the West Coast, providing dramaturgical guidance and support to emerging and mid-career artists in the development of new performance works.

Dates: Saturday, October 2, 2010 and Sunday, October 3, 2010

Time: Doors at 7:30 pm; Showtime at 8 pm
Location: Anne MacDonald Studio, 333 Chesterfield Avenue, North Vancouver
(corner of 3rd Street West & Chesterfield, adjacent to Presentation House Theatre)

Admission: By donation at the door (suggested $10)
Information: www.creativedominion.ca

Creative Dominion is a non-profit society based in North Vancouver. The Launch Pad has been providing dramaturgical guidance and support to performing artists continuously since 2003. The society gratefully acknowledges the support of the Arts Office, City and District of North Vancouver.

FREE lecture:  German New Medicine Intro

7pm-10pm
Commercial Drive location, address given to attendees.
Free but reservations required due to seating limit.
Please reserve vie email:  epicalchemy@littlewoo.org

For over a decade, I've felt that illnesses are meaningful Spiritual experiences. They've been tremendous instigators for my own spiritual growth, as I was sick often as a child and dealt with chronic health challenges as a young adult. But these same challenges propelled me with greater focus on the healing journey so I have a deep respect for the intelligence of our bodies.

Recently, i've embarked on a keen examination of German New Medicine (GNM) since its premise is that diseases are meaningful BIOLOGICAL programs of Nature - not the result of malfunctions or malignancies. It resonated immediately with my beliefs but this medical system has mapped out the specific cause and natural healing process of all major diseases with such logic and intelligence that it will intrigue those who wish to examine alternative medical paradigms.

During this intro lecture, I will present the 5 biological laws with a few health examples (e.g. specific cancers as understood by GNM) as a way to begin a community awareness and joint study of this possibly revolutionary medicine. I do not consider myself a teacher of GNM, but someone who is investigating it on a personal level and wishes to share this information in case others might benefit. Since it is non-invasive info, one can examine their own health experiences through the intriguing lens of German New Medicine to see if it resonates and makes a difference.

Note #1:
For those who attend the intro: Through the year, I can help you review your health symptoms through the GNM perspective via brief phone consultations at no charge, though donations always appreciated. These consultations will not include counselling, but may include concise suggestions.

*I do offer counseling at my normal rates.
Visit this page: http://www.littlewoo.org/alchemy-counseling.htm
and mail me directly epicalchemy@littlewoo.org  about spiritual counseling sessions

Note #2:
October 15-18 German New Medicine Seminar 1 and 2 with Caroline Markolin!!

Once you've attended this intro that i'm offering at no cost on Oct.7, you might decide to take the whole program with Caroline Markolin (who travels the world teaching GNM). She is teaching seminar 1 and 2 on Oct.15-17 and Seminar 3 & 4 on November 19-22, 2010 (She only teaches in town about twice a year) I do not receive any compensation for recommending her program, it is purely out of humanitarian interest. I have already taken all her courses but will continue studying and examining it for some time.   For more info, visit: http://www.germannewmedicine.ca/

GNM Seminar ONE & TWO: October 15-18, 2010
Time: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day

Alchemy of Evolution

Learn the key principles of the Epic Alchemy program. These fundamental teachings are inherent in every course of the program and they also stand on their own as a powerful program of Self-Evolution.

Yes, one can grow and change in significant ways in this lifetime! And these changes can have a lasting impact on how we live and the choices we make. With a set of guiding principles, we can consciously evolve til the end of our days.

From baby steps to quantum leaps, we can be constantly delighted by our ability to grow in the most unexpected yet rewarding ways. We each have many hidden talents and skills that are waiting to be tapped yet we can learn to fully enjoy being "works in progress". We do not evolve because we are broken, we evolve because we are creative beings.

Description by Navaro Franco:

Live Music, Dancing, Music Jam, Performance Art, Blissful Treats to Eat, Fire Dance Performance, and MORE!!!! (check the link for full info)

This is a house show - 3 floors, amazing garden, roving treats such as blissballs and special drinks, potluck food (I think - not sure about this this time but there was last time) - and music all night long. Also a giant group jam, and a dancing space downstairs. If you don't know about this party from being connected it would be hard to find out about it. Well - it feels like a private party but better - it is actually performances, but in such a friendly setting.

This time Tzvi has the house across the street also! Apparently the street is closed down for the first part of the evening and there will be fire dancers!!!! Not to be missed, esp if you have never seen fire dancers.

Pepe and I are playing, with others.....Little Woo is leading an opening meditation with Zamir Dhanji, and there are tons of other great musicians. Last time I arrived around 7pm and stayed till 3am - it was so much fun. Check out the link. If the info is short, be sure to click on 'see more' and the whole page will unfold, with all the info.

Alchemy of Sensuality  (Epic Alchemy Program)

What is the difference between Sensuality and Sexuality?
How does the Sensual Self interact with the World?
...How do we sensually experience events, people, places and things?

Practice the art of Sensuality through a variety of experiential exercises (non-sexual) in this safe and loving space.

As we get more comfortable in our own skin - we free ourselves to experience life with less inhibition. Without such limitations, we can more fully offer our true selves to the world and express our joy.

Alchemy of Beauty Course

What are the Teachings of Beauty?
What is Ugly to you and how does that Ugliness affect you?
What does it mean to lead a beautiful life?

The content comes from my direct experiences and a life-long personal study of the relationship between Beauty and Ethics (or what philosophy would call Aesthetics and Ethics). Far from being a mere philosophical discourse, this is about the true everyday situations we face and how we can commit to making more beautiful choices in our lives.

We will explore how commitment to Beauty is a powerful path of transformation and how it can shape all our thoughts, actions and choices in daily life. Discover how to use your Aesthetic tastes to evolve spiritually - letting it inform all your decisions and become a long-term guide to ethical living. It is an approach to life that I began in childhood, that helped me heal on so many levels.

Far from being a mere “high concept”, the devotion to leading a Beautiful life can turn even the most “ugly circumstances” into a profound and heroic experience. As we embrace the teachings of Ugliness, we can better understand our essential beauty.

This is a very personal study of how Beauty has molded you and how it can create who you will be in the future. Beauty can be just an idea or it can be an inspired way of living…
