Health, Vitamins, and Herb...
The Codex Alimentarius is a threat to the freedom of
people to choose natural healing and alternative
medicine and nutrition. Ratified by the World Health
Organization, and going into Law in the United
States in 2009, the threat to health freedom has
never been greater. This is the first part of a
series of talks by Dr. Rima Laibow MD, available on
DVD from the Natural Solutions Foundation, an

people about how to stop Codex Alimentarius from
taking away our right to freely choose nutritional

A Home for your Stories
The Center for Digital Storytelling excited to
announce the pre-launch of our brand new online
video sharing site StoryCircles
http://www.storycircles.org .
We invite you to be the first to use this exciting
new place for sharing videos online, and assist us
in organizing and testing our new site in the coming
weeks and months.
We have built this online video sharing environment
specifically made for the digital storytelling
community. We realize not every storyteller wants
their story shared to the world. With this in mind,
we have created a site with the unique feature that
registered users can set each of their stories at
any one of four privacy settings - one allowing a
story to be seen by anyone visiting the site, one
that is shared only with other registered users on
the site, one shared only within friends designated
by the story's creator, and one that can only be
seen by the creator themselves. And more
importantly, unlike YouTube and other commercial
video sharing sites, you do NOT sign away any rights
to your story when you upload it. Your story, how it
is shared, and how you share rights, is up to you.
We envision the site as a resource and meeting
grounds for everyone from seasoned digital
storytelling instructors to workshop participants to
those simply interested in the work we do to a
general public. The site allows you to organize as
many groups as you want, and share movies only
within the group that you manage. People can make
small story circles around a few stories, copy and
paste the url location into emails and blogs to
share with others. You can embed the flash-based
files, and the site will accept files from wmv,
quicktime, and mpeg formats.
We hope that you will join us in celebrating the
International Day for Sharing Life Stories
http://www.ausculti.org by checking
out the site and uploading a digital story of your
own.
Please come join the site, and share any bugs,
problems or other feedback at
info@storycenter.org
This is your site, a non-profit resource for you,
the communities we serve and the general public.

At Freedocumentaries.org, you can stream interesting
and provocative documentary films for free!
At freedocumentaries.org we strongly believe that in
order to have a true democracy, there has to be a
free flow of easily accessible information.
Unfortunately, many important perspectives,
opinions, and facts never make it to our televisions
or cinemas (you can watch movies in our media
category if you want to know why).
As a secondary objective freedocumentaires.org
allows independent filmmakers to have their message
heard by viewers that they may not normally reach.
Our goal is to have everyone that watches a film at
freedocumentaries.org learn something; whether it be
a new perspective on a topic, simply understanding a
conflict, or being more accepting of a certain
belief system. We are proud to say that the vast
majority of people that watch our films are glad
they did so. In fact many people become addicted to
watching documentaries after seeing a movie on our
site.
Planning, planting, pruning, propagation, mulching,
weeding, watering, soil amendment (I mix my own
organic fertilizer blends), compost production,
nursery sales consultation (I'll visit the garden
centre with you and help you pick out the right
things), wit, and charm. Please don't hesitate to
ask if you don't see what you need on this list.
I also offer consultations, tailored to your
individual needs. This can involve anything from
making an inventory of plants already growing on
your propery, to describing what, when, and how to
prune, to helping answer vegetable and herb growing
questions.
Services not offered:
Lawn care, hedging, pruning above ten feet, the use
of any synthetic chemicals (yes, this includes
Miracle Grow), transport of materials with any sort
of motor vehicle.

WHAT IS TEEN ANGST POETRY?
Teen angst poetry is written between the ages of
12-18 (or later) when one is depressed or hurt. It
is an outlet for the most "profound" thoughts ...or
so you thought at the time - those "YES! this is so
what I mean!" moments. Most often teen angst poetry
has horrible rhyming schemes and very obvious
metaphors.
Sara started the Teen Angst nights in 2000 (along
with TeenAngstPoetry.com) where she encourages
people to share their most embarrassing teenage
writing.
Lesley Gering aka Fireweed is an award winning Emily
Carr Graduate, Mother and Motorcyclist who crosses
the mediums with photography, film, writing, video,
2-D art and even fire performance. Her work has been
published in over fifty publications worldwide and
her photography and writing have been published in
over a dozen motorcycle magazines internationally.

STORYTELLING DOCUMENTARY
Series "Truth or Tale"
My name is Jason Britski, and I am the owner of
a film production company named Framed Films Inc. in
Regina, SK.
I have a new documentary series about storytelling
that is now airing on SCN called "Truth or Tale",
which was co-produced with Dianne Ouellette.
I thought that this program might be of interest to
you as it is about the art of Storytelling.
We have created a 4 DVD boxset of all 13 episodes
(24 minutes each) for the low retail price of $30.00
(taxes included).
Truth or Tale is a showcase for the stories,
legends, myths, and tall tales of Canadian prairie
people. This series not only celebrates these
people’s stories, but it also lets the viewer
examine what separates fact from fiction in the oral
tradition. This is a series that focuses on our
prairie region – its natural beauty and its
incredibly diverse, and delightful people.Truth or
Tale celebrates the spectacular people of the
prairies, and the stories they have to tell.
Truth or Tale is a documentary series that tells
many stories that are connected to the art of
storytelling, family, and nature. Over the course of
13 weeks we investigated such phenomenon as lake
monsters, crop circles, and the Crooked Bush near
Hafford, Saskatchewan. In addition, the folklore
that surrounds the sky, “mystery rocks”, the open
range, owls, white bison, dinosaurs, bears, “little
people”, elves, and the mysterious “Man of Darkness”
were explored.
Some of the places we visited include: Foam Lake,
Elfros, La Ronge, Eastend, Hafford, Fort Qu'Appelle,
Moose Jaw, Saskatoon, Grandora, Whitewood,
Waneskewin Heritage Park, North Battleford, Turtle
Lake, Melville, Wadena, Winnipeg Zoo, St. Victor,
Coronach, etc.
If you would like to preview the series it is
currently on SCN every Wednesday at 8 pm, and every
Saturday at 11:30 pm. Saturday is a repeat of the
Wednesday episode. This week's episode is "Mystery
Rocks".
If you have any questions at all please contact me.
Thanks for your time.

Sex Positive Resource
Erotisan Website
Sam Shoichet, along with a couple of people, are in
the process of building a new website called
Erotisan. The website will be a social networking
tool for erotic artists, photographers, writers,
performers, educators, lovers, sex-spiritualists and
everyone who is sexually progressive.
We are envisioning a well-designed and secure
myspace/facebook/flickr for the sex-positive where
free discourse and expression is encouraged. We are
hoping it will grow to be an invaluable tool for
people to share, inspire, create and network in an
online community that is sex-positive, open-minded
and forward thinking... Plus super hot!
People can use it to share photos, art, writing and
ideas; post events and parties; create discussion
groups and online forums; meet other like-minded
individuals; all kinds of stuff.
It will be the first of it’s kind – an online
community that is uncensored (within community
guidelines), and self-governed.
It will have various levels of privacy settings so
users can determine how much and with whom they
share their information.
What else will it have/do? You can help decide:
We are building the site right now and are
wanting the participation of people who will be
using the site in the creation process.
To this end, we will be offering free memberships to
people who sign up on our site
www.erotisan.com
before we launch it.
If there is anyone you think would be interested in
participating in creating this new (and much needed)
online community, please forward this info to them.

membership, there is a

Legal Aid Service Pre-Paid Legal Life Events
Legal Plan
A Pre-Paid Legal Life Events Legal Plan gives you
access to quality law firms for $26 a month.
Have you ever...
• Been overcharged for a repair?
• Received a speeding ticket?
• Been audited?
• Purchased a home?
• Tried to return a defective product?
• Lost a security deposit?
• Signed a contract?
• Prepared a will?
Even though most people find themselves in these
situations, the majority do not seek the advice or
help of a qualified lawyer. Why?
• It may cost too much.
• They may not know where to begin.
• The process is intimidating.
If you don't know your rights, you simply don't have
any! The top 10% of income earners can afford to
have a lawyer and are accustomed to asking their
lawyer for advice before making decisions.
With Pre-Paid Legal:
• You know who to call.
• You're treated like the firm's most important
client.
• A one year membership costs $312.
• You are empowered by knowing your legal rights.
Without Pre-Paid Legal:
• You may try to handle it yourself.
• Likely receive as much justice as you can afford.
• You may pay hundreds of dollars for ONE HOUR of a
lawyer's time.
• If you don't know your rights, you don't have any!
Pre-Paid Legal "levels the playing field" in the
justice system. With this Life Events Plan you can
say, "I'm going to talk to my lawyer about this."
and mean it!

Power Plant on Texada Island,
BC
Many British Columbians are scratching their
heads and asking “Why?” in response to an advancing
proposal to build a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
power plant on Texada Island (off BC’s Sunshine
Coast).
Calgary-based Westpac is working closely with the BC
Government and an as-yet unnamed IPP developer to
build a mega project that would change this small
Island community and BC forever. The project would:
• Import LNG to BC from Asia and the Middle East
where it is cheap and where energy industries are
regularly criticised for environmental and human
rights violations.
• Build a $2 billion energy intensive facility to
turn the LNG back into natural gas to fuel a 1200
megawatt power plant and then export the excess
power and gas.
• Emit greenhouse gases and flood the energy grid
with natural gas, exceeding our energy demand and
seriously damaging any market incentives to develop
renewables.
• Bring 1,000 ft. LNG Supertankers (the size of
aircraft carriers) through the Georgia Strait every
10 days, posing security threats and endangering the
Strait’s abundant marine life including Orcas,
Salmon, Seals and much more.
Join the chorus of British Columbians saying no to
this proposal by letting Minister Neufeld know you
are opposed.
Ironically, BC is not the only place in North
America where such a proposal has been met with
strong opposition. In fact, from California to
Alabama, coastal LNG power plants have been proposed
and rejected due to concerns over safety, security
and the environmental damage.
Please take a moment and tell your Mayor you support
a moratorium on granting water licenses to BC

Burma's generals have brought their brutal iron
hand down on peaceful monks and protesters -- but in
response, a massive global outcry is gathering pace.
The roar of global public opinion is being heard in
hundreds of protests outside Chinese and Burmese
embassies, people round the world wearing the monks'
color red, and on the internet-- where our petition
has exploded to over 200,000 signers in just 72
hours.
People power can win this. Burma's powerful sponsor
China can halt the crackdown, if it believes that
its international reputation and the 2008 Olympics
in Beijing depend on it. To convince the Chinese
government and other key countries, Avaaz is
launching a major global and Asian ad campaign on
Wednesday, including full page ads in the Financial
Times and other newspapers, that will deliver our
message and the number of signers. We need 1 million
voices to be the global roar that will get China's
attention. If every one of us forwards this email to
just 20 friends, we'll reach our target in the next
72 hours. Please sign the petition at the link below
-if you haven't already- and forward this email to
everyone you care about:
The pressure is working - already, there are signs
of splits in the Burmese Army, as some soldiers
refuse to attack their own people. The brutal top
General, Than Shwe, has reportedly moved his family
out of the country – he must fear his rule may
crumble.
The Burmese people are showing incredible courage in
the face of horror. We're broadcasting updates on
our effort over the radio into Burma itself –
telling the people that growing numbers of us stand
with them. Let's do everything we can to help them –
we have hours, not days, to do it. Please sign the
petition and forward this email to at least 20
friends right now. Scroll down our petition page for
details of times and events to join in the massive
wave of demonstrations happening around the world at
Burmese and Chinese embassies.

The Purple Thistle is a youth driven, collective-run
drop-in, arts & activism space in East Vancouver. We
are also a deschool because of our focus on
alternative ways of taking in information or
learning skills. We have various groups that happen
once or twice a week, such as photography group,
writing group, carpentry group, animation group,
life drawing, theater group, sewing group, computer
drop-in and bicycle group. The groups are lead by
community mentors, and we offer them at different
times, depepending on how many people are interested
and what resources we have. Groups and supplies are
free for the most part, though we do sometimes ask
for a donation if it is costing us more money than
we have (for example, we ask for 2-5$ for life
drawing so we can pay our models). You won’t be
turned away though, so don’t worry if you just don’t
have it.
We also love when people just come down and pay us a
visit to use our stuff and share their projects. We
have a library, a zine library, a black and white
darkroom, a vcr, tons of good computers loaded with
software that is useful for multimedia work,
carpentry and bike tools, art supplies for painting,
linocutting, silkscreening, etc. You’ll really just
have to come down to check it out, we have a lot of
space with tons of stuff going on.
We also help folks along with the really
important survival type stuff like finding housing,
making a budget, finding a counselor, getting a job
or accessing post-secondary education. We keep out
ears out for places, projects, jobs and resources
for folks who are looking.

I am grateful to have a beautiful room at #204 -
2250 Commercial Drive (between 6th & 7th), only a
short jaunt from the Commercial Skytrain station. I
will be part of a clinic called Heart Quest
Wellness, sharing space with some talented
practitioners in a variety of modalities.
For the present time, I will be working out of that

offering my own brand of Traditional Chinese
Medicine (acupuncture, herbology, and Qi Gong),
combined with other modalities such as EFT and the
new training I am getting next weekend - JMT (a
great technique for clearing allergies and
eliminating pathogens that cause problems like
osteoarthritis, etc.). I am also thrilled to let you
know that my colleague, Harry Webster, will be
working with me as well, bringing his considerable
skills in Tui Na (Chinese massage) to the table. As
you know, my theory is to work at things from every
angle to find the quickest route to health.
We will be offering 1 hour sessions for treatments.
As well, for those of you who need some stress
relief on the way home from work, we will be
offering 1/2 hour treatments of Tui Na or Cupping

Curiosities and Wonders
The
World's Smallest Art
Willard Wigan is a "micro-miniaturist," an artist
known for creating some of the world's smallest
sculptures. As he and his work are described on his
website.
Willard Wigan was born in Birmingham , England in
1957 and is the creator of the smallest works of art
on earth. From being a traumatized and unrecognized
dyslexic child, he is now emerging as the most
globally celebrated micro-miniaturist of all time
and is literally capable of turning a spec of dust
into a vision of true beauty.
Willard can create a masterpiece within the eye of a
tiny sewing needle, on the head of a pin, the tip of
an eyelash or a grain of sand. Some are many times
smaller than the full stop at the end of this
sentence.
Many are even smaller still, with some being
completely invisible to the naked eye yet, when
viewed through high power magnification, the effect
on the viewer is truly mesmerizing. Willard, who is
completely self-taught has baffled medical science
and been the subject of discussions among
micro-surgeons, nano-technologists and at
universities worldwide. His work is ground-breaking
- partly because of the astounding beauty of vision
which challenges the belief system of the mind and
partly because it demonstrates that if one person
can create the impossible, we all have the potential
to transcend our own limiting beliefs about what we
are capable of.
"America: Freedom To Fascism" a groundbreaking
non-partisan political documentary jumps overnight
to #1 on "Google Video United Kingdom" and #4 on
"Google Video Worldwide".
"America: Freedom to Fascism", the
Grassroots-driven, underground documentary by
Writer/Director/Producer, Aaron Russo is a full
length feature film with a 5 star "highest rating"
on Google Video. Overnight, the film jumped in rank
to #4 on Google Worldwide and to #1 on Google United
Kingdom. As of the morning of February 5, 2007
"America: Freedom to Fascism" has been viewed a
total of 1,522,097 times since it was first uploaded
to Google on October 20, 2006.
Mr. Russo is gratified with the public success of
the film despite the fact it has not received a
single review from any mainstream television or
major media organization.
The American people are to be congratulated for
waking up to the fact their Government has shirked
its responsibility to coin money, and instead handed
it over to a private banking cartel, the Federal
Reserve, which charges the government interest on
the paper they print.
This fact explains the American government's
burdensome debt which falls squarely on the
shoulders of every working American. Yet no
Politician is addressing this issue.
Mr. Russo's previous films have received 6 Academy
Award nominations, and he personally has won an
Emmy, Tony, Grammy, Golden Globe and an NAACP Image
Award for Best Film of the Year; AND is credited
with the all-time classics: The Rose with Bette
Midler and Trading Places with Eddie Murphy.
The amazing success of this film illustrates the
power of the internet and grassroots word of mouth
activism.
"America: Freedom to Fascism" chronicles the history
of the Federal Reserve System, the resultant income
tax, and leads the viewer into the imminent future
of our soon-to-be controlled, way of life. Russo has
brilliantly written a documentary about a seemingly
"dry" topic and turned it into a riveting
masterpiece. This is one history lesson you're not
likely to forget anytime soon.
Russo affirms, "The People are ready for this. They
know something isn't right, and this explains it
all. They are hungry for this information". People
want the truth. Aaron is ready, able and willing to
deliver it. Perhaps Mr. Russo is on to something.

Hi there, Kevin Potvin here, I am passing this
around: as a way to support the Republic newspaper
at no cost, if you wish to, every time you think of
it, go to my web site and click a few google ads
there. Costs you nothing and makes me about 20¢ a
click. It doesn't sound like a lot, but enough
people doing that whenever they go online will pay
my printing bill and also let me pay writers a bit.
Pass this around if you're inclined to.

About Bill
30:
Giving corporations the rights to BC's energy
resources
Info from a SFU professor: about Bill 30, which will
give corporations the rights to BC's energy
resources, allowing them access to the power
produced by our rivers, with all the profits going
to the corporations, rather than the public. It will
be passed (unless we stop it) by the end of October!
The province's energy resources are being privatized
and citizens are being disenfranchised, all under
cover of Bill 30 which was hastily enacted recently.
This is huge and most of us know next to nothing
about it. Please check out the link and spread the
word.
The first video gives you an o.k. sense of SOME of
what this is all about. It's not as clear,
comprehensive and hard hitting as it could be. The
blatant violation of Native land claims is not
addressed. The implications re: NAFTA are not
addressed. But it does give something of an overview
to this issue -- Bill 30 as the gateway to the
privatization of BC's hydro energy, in particular,
through the gutting of the power of municipal
governments as a significant voice for local
representation. In general, the long term picture is
bleaker and even more sweeping --
the loss of the commons to corporate governance,
deep sixing of Native land/resources claims, etc.

The Dalai Lama Center for
Peace and Education in Vancouver
The Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education is
committed to the Dalai Lama’s vision "to develop the
heart, be compassionate, work for peace in your
heart and in the world."
Founded in 2005 with the active support of the Dalai
Lama, the Vancouver based Center has no religious or
political affiliation. It will build upon the Dalai
Lama’s unique and compelling appeal as a world
figure who reaches out to all people with a message
of compassion, kindness and mutual understanding.
The Center will be located in the heart of Vancouver
and will provide a multi-purpose venue with
accessible meeting, lecture and exhibition spaces.
It will include a gallery, library, cafe and
bookstore among its warm and inviting spaces.
This fundraising initiative is to help us continue
filming our documentary about a group of Israeli,
Palestinian and Canadian teenagers who converged at
the Gulf Island Film School to talk about the Middle
East crisis and make films for peace. We are hoping
to head to Israel and Palestine as quickly as
possible to follow the students as they return to
reality.
Please forward this link to anyone (in the world!)
you think would be interested in supporting this
project. They just have to follow the link and can
contribute using a credit card. We hope to raise
this money in the next few weeks.
The students have returned to Palestine and Israel
and very interesting things are happening now as
they share their stories. Some of them are having a
difficult time, and face challenges talking to their
peers, families and within their communities. An
Israeli student set up a screening of their films at
her school. One of the Palestinian students,
inspired by her experience, organized a student
demonstration to support their teachers who are on
strike because they haven't been paid by the
Palestinian authority.
Thanks again for your support!

Aeriosa Dance Society is a very special troupe of
aerial dance artists who create and perform dances
in unexpected vertical spaces. Our artistic
objectives include the exploration of dance in
non-traditional environments nd the creation of a
new dance vocabulary of aerial movement. In urban
settings, we dance on ledges, rooftops and walls of
city buildings and in theatres. In search of
inspiration, (and sometimes rehearsal space) we work
in the mountains on sheer rock walls. We capture our
experiences on video and incorporate the results
into our live performances.
AERIOSA reflects a new direction for twenty-first
century dance performance. Imagine combining the
discipline of modern dance with the technical
repertoire of mountain climbing! The performers
transcend gravity - their leaps and bounds,
magnified by ropes, provide a spectacular array of
suspension aloft. The vertical world becomes the
dancers’ stage. The site-specific nature of the work
allows the creative process to take place in the
public eye, fostering a sense of anticipation. This
encourages dialogue between the public and the
artists.
The main goal OF AERIOSA is to develop and promote
the discipline of vertical dance. We aim is to
create a sustainable environment for our creative
endeavors and to become pre-eminent in our chosen
field of dance expression. We seek to bring our work
to new audiences to develop greater public awareness
of our art form.

Swing and other Dance Lessons at Urban Beat Dance
The Urban Beat Dance Co. was started in
Toronto several years ago by Graeme Oxendale and
Lisa Jacobs. Their classes soon became so insanely
popular they had to expand.
Graeme decided to move back to Vancouver (his
home town) to be with his sweetie, Elizabeth, in
1999 and they were soon the most popular classes in
town. They were named "The Best/Coolest Dance
Instructors in Vancouver" by Vancouver Magazine.
They were honored in 2004 by Albert Torres (the #1
Salsa Promoter in the world) at the 2nd Annual
Vancouver Salsa congress for their contribution to
the Vancouver salsa scene: said Albert, "Their salsa
classes are the most popular in Vancouver and they
have brought more beginners into the salsa scene
than anyone else."
Singing into Nature is a simple wilderness ritual
that powerfully connects us to the land and to each
other. We walk into Natural places, tuning in
through deep listening and getting reconnected by
singing, touching, and moving together.
JP Mercury runs a weekly group. Our journeys include
hiking- physical travel into beautiful natural
places. They are also spiritual practice, because
music takes us to the mystery place.
Instead of singing set songs, we focus largely on
improvisation. Simple rhythms and harmonies leave
space for the energy of the moment (the Spirit of a
place) to enter and transform us. Singing with
others helps us release our inhibitions and discover
that we, too, are creative.
Join me as we rediscover this fundamental human
rite- SINGING INTO NATURE!
No experience necessary! The hikes vary from easy to
moderate.
All Are Welcome!
JP Mercury facilitates Singing into Nature, drawing
on his background in improvised
music, yoga, ritual, and trance.
